As someone who is very pale, in their 30s and trying to maintain a youthful looking complexion, SPF is something I never leave the house without, I sometimes joke I’d get burnt just walking to the letterbox on hot sunny summery days.
Whilst we might be in the last weeks of winter, it is still important to remain protected regardless, the sun is already doing damage to our skin way before we see the tell tale sign of sunburns, think premature ageing, pigmentation etc
I’ve taught my children to put on sunscreen and a hat before going outside to play, particularly my 2.5 year old who loves playing outside even in Winter, still hunts out sunscreen and his hat, along with his rain coat and gumboots, its a good habit to be in, so personally I keep it going in the winter, as we all know how hard it can be to start doing something again after you stop….
We’ve recently started using Soleo Organics sunscreen*, it is SPF 30+ and rated for UVA and UVB protection, it is really great having one sunscreen the whole family can use.
Despite being a Zinc Oxide based sunscreen, this formula is light and creamy and spreads really easily, absorbing quite quickly,
It’s gentle enough for the children and baby to use and still works brilliantly for me underneath my makeup also, I do notice a very slight white cast once first applied, which subsides after 10-15 minutes.
Full Ingredients Include: Zinc Oxide 22.3% (active ingredient), Vitis vinifera seed oil (grapeseed), Helianthus annus seed oil (Sunflower), Capric/caprylic triglyceride, Vegetable Oils, Candellia Cera, Cera alba (beeswax), Camellia sinesis leaf extract (green tea), Anthemis noblis flower extract (roman chamomile), Lecithin, Carthamis tinctorius seed oil (safflower), Cucumis sativus fruit extract (cucumber), Natural Vitamin E, Macadamia ternifolia seed oil and Theobroma grandiflorum seed butter.
Do you keep up with wearing sunscreen everyday, even when its not really sunny?
