Brand Focus: Lily LoLo Mineral Makeup

Hi Guys, today I’m going to share my thoughts on a range of products from Lily LoLo mineral makeup, I first came across this brand a few months ago when I started to delve into more ‘natural’ and organic based products.

I will admit one of the appeals was totally the chic monochrome packaging!BB Cream: The BB also known as the Beauty Balm, provides a light wash of colour helping to even out imperfections and even the skin tone, I like this for days when I don’t want much coverage, however just like to have a little bit of something on.

The consistency is medium-ish, I don’t find it to be as thick as some of the Asian BB creams, however it is a bit thicker than a standard tinted moisturiser, it feels weightless on the skin, almost like you are not wearing anything.

I have been using the shade Fair.

Full Ingredients: AQUA, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, GLYCERIN, COCO-CAPRYLATE, CETEARYL OLIVATE, SORBITAN OLIVATE, SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS (JOJOBA) SEED OIL, TRITICUM VULGARE (WHEAT) GERM OIL, PRUNUS AMYGDALUS DULCIS (SWEET ALMOND) OIL, ARGANIA SPINOSA (ARGAN) KERNEL OIL, STEARIC ACID, CETYL ALCOHOL, GLYCERYL STEARATE, BORON NITRIDE, BENZYL ALCOHOL, PARFUM, SODIUM BENZOATE, POTASSIUM SORBATE, TOCOPHEROL, ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF JUICE POWDER, LEPTOSPERMUM SCOPARIUM (MANUKA) OIL, PUNICA GRANATUM (POMEGRANATE) SEED OIL, DEHYDROACETIC ACID, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED OIL, SODIUM HYALURONATE, LIMONENE, LINALOOL, BENZYL BENZOATE, BENZYL SALICYLATE, CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE), CI 77491 (IRON OXIDE), CI 77492 (IRON OXIDE), CI 77499 (IRON OXIDE)

Mineral Foundation SPF 15: This is a loose mineral powder foundation, I find on its own it probably gives slightly more coverage than the BB, as it is a little bit easier to buff and build the coverage, the shade I use is called China Doll.

Sometimes I like to wear this over the BB Cream for a fuller coverage look, or even lightly dusted as a setting type powder.

The sifter packaging makes it easy to dispense a small amount of powder and for travelling.

Full Ingredients: MICA, ZINC OXIDE [+/- CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE), CI 77492 (IRON OXIDE), CI 77491 (IRON OXIDE), CI 77499 (IRON OXIDE)].

Blush Duo (naked pink) and Blush Brush:

I love this little blush duo, as someone who is super fair, heavily pigmented products do make me a little nervous, I find that this applies quite lightly, however it is quite easy to build colour, one side is more matte whilst the other side has a nice glow to it without being glittery.

The brush is made from synthetic hair and is very soft, I have had it for some time and have not noticed any shedding at all.

Blush Duo Ingredients: MICA, SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS (JOJOBA) SEED OIL, ARGANIA SPINOSA (ARGAN) KERNEL OIL, PUNICA GRANATUM (POMEGRANATE) SEED OIL, TOCOPHEROL, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS SEED OIL, LEPTOSPERMUM SCOPARIUM (MANUKA) OIL, SODIUM HYALURONATE, ERYNGIUM MARITIMUM CALLUS CULTURE FILTRATE, [+/- SILICA, TIN OXIDE, CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE), CI 77007 (ULTRAMARINES), CI 77491 (IRON OXIDE), CI 77742 (IRON OXIDE)]

Natural Lipstick in Parisian Pink*

I really like this formula it is very nourishing on the lips and easy to wear, the pigment is somewhat buildable, so you can have a slightly sheer look, or a fuller colour.

Full Ingredients: RICINUS COMMUNIS SEED OIL, SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS SEED OIL, CANDELILLA CERA, LANOLIN, ISOAMYL LAURATE, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, CERA ALBA, COPERNICIA CERIFERA CERA, SILICA, MALTODEXTRIN, TOCOPHEROL, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS SEED OIL, ASCORBYL PALMITATE, ROSMARINUS OFFICINALIS LEAF EXTRACT [+/- CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE), CI 77492 (IRON OXIDE), CI 77491 (IRON OXIDE), CI 75470 (CARMINE)

Makeup Mist*: I quite like this makeup mist for setting the makeup, I also find that it helps to give a slightly dewier finish over the mineral powder foundation.

There isn’t really a discernible scent to the makeup mist, however I do notice some of the Aloe Vera peeking through.

One tip when you apply the mist is to make a X or zig zag motion as you are misting to help disperse the product evenly, the nozzle isn’t super fine, so if you mist directly it will feel like too much.

Full Ingredients: AQUA (WATER), GLYCERIN, PANTHENOL, POTASSIUM SORBATE, SODIUM BENZOATE, ALOE BARBADENSIS (ALOE VERA) LEAF JUICE POWDER, CITRUS PARADISI (GRAPEFRUIT) SEED EXTRACT, CITRIC ACID, LYCIUM CHINENSE (GOJI BERRY) FRUIT EXTRACT, PUNICA GRANATUM (POMEGRANATE) FRUIT EXTRACT, CAMELLIA SINENSIS (GREEN TEA) LEAF EXTRACT

  1. I definitely have! I’ve got one of their loose powder blushes in Flushed + their Laid Bare eyeshadow palette. The blush is good, but you do have to be careful not to apply too much (although I find that’s the case right across the board with loose powder blushes – the curse of being pale!). The eyeshadow palette’s not too bad either, but I find I have to really build the nude/lighter shades on my eyes. They’re not a bad brand to go to for natural/organic makeup & I definitely have my eye on that Naked Pink blush duo myself + their Pedal to the Metal eyeshadow palette.
