May 2018: Bits I’ve finished

Wow! June already?! It’s so crazy! I really can’t believe how fast time is flying by!

Here are all the products I finished last month.

Kari Gran three sixty five SPF: I quite liked this SPF, it is in an oil base, I find its really good when you want a more dewy complexion, I like to just buff in a little mineral powder over the top and have a quick and easy look. I would say it is slightly greasy due to the oil formulation.

Lilfox Cleopatra Milk and Honey Mask: This is a powdered clay mask, you add water/liquid and make it yourself, I didn’t mind this.

Farmacy Sleep Tight Balm to Oil: This was nice, I just didn’t find it hydrating/moisturising enough for my dry skin.

May Lindstrom The Honey Mud: I love this stuff, it is pricey, you don’t need it, but it is good if you want an indulgent splurge, I touched on May Lindstorm here, and I do have a back up.

Drunk Elephant Marula Oil and TLC Serum, The oil was nice and light, once again, quite pricey. The TLC serum, admittedly I was a bit sporadic with use, however I didn’t really notice too much difference, the first acid listed is Glycolic, which I’ve found with a few acids that are glycolic based (Glow Tonic/Liquid Gold) I don’t tend to notice the elusive glow people rave about.

Vintners Daughter Active Botanical Serum: I’ve had this for just over a year and there is a tiny bit left, I did really like this oil, but the cost is eye watering, I should do a full post on it… skin would always look less reddened and less inflamed whenever I used it.

Zuanna Cosmetics Moisture Boost*: This is just over 12 months old too and a smidge left, I just have had too many oils in my stash, this is a fab oil though and much more affordable, you don’t have to sell a kidney, I reviewed it here

Dr Dennis Gross Ferulic Acid and retinol brightening serum: This is a good entry level retinol product, it feels very gentle on the skin.

Josh Rosebrook Active Enzyme Exfoliator: I’ve had a brand focus half done for a few months, hopefully I can finish that sometime soon, this is a good mix of scrub and enzyme exfoliation, leave it on your skin for a mask and then massage off, to super soft skin, will likely repurchase.

Intense Formulas Face Serum*: You can find my review here, this is really nice, part serum/part oil, my skin always felt so nourished after use.

Devine Oils Open Pore Serum*: This was included in a Wanderess Box* with you can find here. I really liked this serum, especially if my skin was playing up a bit (monthly, hormonal), I noticed that the serum would kind of calm the skin making a good base for make-up.

Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior Serum and Eye Cream Samples: I got two uses of the eye cream, it was a good light texture, the serum, wasn’t for me, it felt very siliconey which I didn’t like.

Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products before, I’d love to know how you went.

*product/s kindly gifted, these are my own thoughts and opinions.

  1. Interesting to hear that the Drunk Elephant TLC Serum didn’t work out for you. I’ve been meaning to try it for a while now, but it’s so pricey that I’ve put it off time and time again. The Dr Dennis Gross Ferulic Acid and Retinol Brightening Serum is a product I’ve intended to purchase for a long, long time now. Tempted to give it a go. Do you have any alternative retinol products you’d recommend more so than this one? xx
